I’m Amber, your resident greenhorn and camera holder. I’m a transplanted Illinois girl living in Madison, Wisconsin. When I’m not tromping through the woods, wading in streams, or drilling holes in frozen lakes and writing about it all, I’m a part time student at UW-Madison. I study German and Political Science there.
I do all this stuff with my boyfriend, Matt. He’s from way up north in the Nicolet-Chequamagon National Forest, and is a Marine Corps Recruiter.
We’ve been doing all of this stuff together for going on 4 years now. But any outdoorsperson can tell you, one two seasons does not an expert make. I’m working on it, but that’s definitely the fun part.

dude, your blog looks awesome! i’m a huge fan of the outdoor as well, although admittedly i mostly lounge around in my hammock and fish when i’m not napping. you guys seem a lot more industrious than me. 😉
that being said, you guys look like you have a blast getting out there and doing what you love. i’m definitely going to stop in now and again to see what you are up to. keep up the awesome work!
Thank you! Believe me, sometimes I wish for just a hammock, a fishing pole, and a warm day. Especially when we’re ice fishing! The hunting’s a bit slow at the moment, but the whitetail rut and gun season are both on their way.
